Deadlines! Deadlines! Deadlines!

As many of you have probably already experienced the admissions process is full of deadlines.  All the schools you are applying to have different deadlines and keeping track of them can be crazy!  While deadlines may seem arbitrary they do play an important role and UMBC has a few deadlines coming up pretty quickly.

Big Deadline #1: February 1.  This deadline is specific to freshmen students applying for the Fall 2010 semester.  February 1 is the Regular Decision deadline for the Fall term so it is very important that you submit your application and have all required materials postmarked by this date.  Students who have already submitted their Regular Decision application with all required documents can expect to hear from our office starting in early-February.

Big Deadline #2: February 14.  This deadline is another whopper.  Valentines Day at UMBC is the deadline for students to submit their FAFSA to be considered for need-based aid for the 2010-2011 academic year.  Apply online by Valentines (!  Make sure to submit your FAFSA even if you haven’t heard anything about your admissions decision.  We also suggest submitting a FAFSA even if you don’t think you will be eligible for aid.  This deadline is very important for all students, freshmen and transfer alike, and even those transfer students considering UMBC for Spring 2011.

Big Deadline #3: March 15.  This particular deadline is a bit further away but March 15 is the priority deadline for Fall 2010 transfer students.  You still have plenty time to submit your applications but just keep this deadline in mind.

As always, good luck finishing up your remaining applications.  Here in the Admissions Office we have been enjoying reviewing your applications.  Have a great weekend!

    • Hi Alivia- We do not require that students submit a mid-year grade report. Students who choose to enroll at UMBC are asked to submit a final high school transcript after their graduation. Thanks!
