UMBC is a liberal arts university offering 42 majors, 40 minors and 20 certificate programs. Our students major in areas including Anthropology, English, Sociology, Mechanical Engineering, Economics, Spanish, Information Systems and the Visual and Performing Arts. The list goes on and the interests are incredibly diverse. When our students graduate from UMBC they might work in a corporate setting, for a non-profit or at some level of the government. Additionally, about 40-45 percent of our students go directly to graduate programs each year all across the United States. Our students are admitted to law schools, medical programs, doctoral programs and masters programs at many outstanding colleges and universities.
Many of our students who are considering graduate school are pursuing Pre-Professional tracks along with their major. If you’re thinking about our Pre-Medical or Pre-Dental tracks I suggest checking out the new advising website for these programs. On the website you can read about what other UMBC students are doing and keep up to date on news.
