Summertime Tips

As the school year draws to a close we don’t want you to forget about us! Our office has a few tips for our admitted students and rising seniors!

We are really looking forward to our upcoming class of Retrievers! We can’t wait to add your talent and ambition to our campus. Did you know as an admitted student you can take a summer course or participate in our summer bridge program? In addition to orientation, you can sign up for an excursion! Spend a day in Baltimore or a few days in the mountains with your future classmates! Excursion sign ups are located within orientation sign up! Lastly, find out your house of grit! Take our quiz to see if you are a maker, explorer, thinker, uniter or solver.

Congrat’s juniors you are once again the top dawgs at the school and get to start this wonderful process of applying to schools! It is time to be visiting colleges and finalizing your school list. You already know the school’s facts, figures, and requirements but what about their atmosphere? Visit campuses and find out more about their lifestyle because it could be your home for four years. You have plenty of opportunities to visit UMBC. Come for a tour or an open house! Then start your application because deadlines creep up fast.

We look forward to seeing everyone on campus this summer! No matter what stage you are at in the admissions process never hesitate to contact our office!

Commit by May 1st!!

Hello, Seniors!

Spring break is complete and you are now in the home stretch of senior year!

But, before you start dreaming of prom, graduation, and summer fun, you have one key step left in your college admissions process. You need to pick your school. We know there are a ton of fantastic universities around MD and the country but we are hopeful you will find your home here at UMBC!

May 1st is the national deposit deadline for you to declare your intent to attend UMBC or any other university nationally. To accept your admission offer to UMBC, you will need to accept it via your myUMBC account and submit your enrollment deposit to secure your place in the class of 2021.

We are extremely impressed with all the applications we received. We are excited for the students who have already committed to being a retriever and look forward to many more students joining them!

Still, have a few questions about UMBC or want to visit before May 1st? Come on in or give us a call, we are happy to help!

We look forward to meeting everyone at Summer Orientation!

New Student Day is the perfect opportunity to visit campus, fall in love with the retriever lifestyle and accept your admission! We will start the morning with our campus activities fair! The fair will have a portion of our 250 clubs present. Students will get to explore our wide variety of clubs, meet members and sign up to join. Throughout the day students will be attending sessions focused on student life, campus living, and academics. You will also have the opportunity to tour research facilities, tutoring spaces and a residential facility. Lastly, throughout the whole day, you will be able to interact with current students and professors in all departments.

I want to congratulate all of the admitted students! We can’t wait to see all of you Future Retrievers on Saturday, April 8th!

It’s Travel Season!

I’m so excited to begin Recruitment Travel once again this year! I had a great time last year getting to meet to many of you and visiting your beautiful schools and home towns.

Here’s I picture I took last year when I was in VA Beach!

This year I will have the pleasure of visiting many of the same places. Some of which include: Raleigh, Durham, Northern Virginia, Richmond, and Virginia Beach! I will also be stopping by several schools in Anne Arundel County, Southern Maryland, and the Eastern Shore.

My first day of travel will be this Monday, September 12th and my first stop is North Carolina. If you’ve seen a poster announcing our visit, please be sure stop by!

Be sure to stay updated with us by following our social media accounts @UMBCAdmissions.
