Spring break is complete and you are now in the home stretch of senior year!
But, before you start dreaming of prom, graduation, and summer fun, you have one key step left in your college admissions process. You need to pick your school. We know there are a ton of fantastic universities around MD and the country but we are hopeful you will find your home here at UMBC!
May 1st is the national deposit deadline for you to declare your intent to attend UMBC or any other university nationally. To accept your admission offer to UMBC, you will need to accept it via your myUMBC account and submit your enrollment deposit to secure your place in the class of 2021.
We are extremely impressed with all the applications we received. We are excited for the students who have already committed to being a retriever and look forward to many more students joining them!
Still, have a few questions about UMBC or want to visit before May 1st? Come on in or give us a call, we are happy to help!
We look forward to meeting everyone at Summer Orientation!
For those of you who live near by, I hope you’ve been keeping warm over the last few days! I had the pleasure of spending my holidays in nice warm weather but was greeted with below freezing temperatures when I got back. Check out the beautiful sunset I witnessed just days before returning to the cold!

As we get back into the normal routine, I’d like to remind you all of two very important deadlines that are soon approaching!
February 1st: Regular Decision Deadline!
February 14th: FAFSA Deadline! Apply online by Valentine!
For those of you who haven’t submitted your application, you have until February 1st to submit the Common App and all supporting materials! AND if you haven’t already done so, please be sure to submit your FAFSA application by Valentines Day for need-based aid consideration.
You can keep up to date with your application status by logging in to your myUMBC account. Once you apply, be sure to create your account! If you have questions on how to do so, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Hello Future Retrievers,
Today is the day of our Undergraduate Commencement, and we couldn’t be prouder of our Retrievers who are leaving the Dawg House! With nearly 2,000 graduates, the Class of 2016 will now be able to turn the tassel and close this chapter of their lives. UMBC’s “Top Knotch” education has prepared our new alum to go on to receive graduate degrees at schools like Harvard, Stanford, and Princeton; begin positions at major government agencies and companies, like Amazon and Northrop Grumman; or to career opportunities around the globe.
